Star VOICE OF INDIA :- Profile :

Star Voice of India is an Indian Television singing competition. The show got started on May 18, 2007. It is the first Indian singing competition produced by the TV channel Star Plus. It is directed by Gajendra Singh. The show is telecast twice a week, Fridays and Saturdays, at 10pm.

The show is being hosted by Bollywood singer Shaan. The judges are Aadesh Shrivastav, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Alka Yagnik and Lalit - Jatin Pandit.

Auditions were held in various cities under the supervision of these five judges. 32 contestants were selected initially. After testing, 12 finalists were selected for the Gala rounds.The contestants were then divided into two groups, Agni and Prithvi. Aadesh and Jatin are mentors for Agni team and Abhijit and Alka for Prithvi team, with Lalit playing role of neutral umpire.

The performer who gets the lowest number of votes for his/her two performances of the last week gets eliminated. The bottom four singers were placed in “CHAKARVAT" zone and the rest in "SURAKSHA" zone.

The eliminated contestants were given another chance to prove their talent through a wildcard entry. During the October 5, 2007 episode, Aabhas Joshi, Toshi, Sabri and Priyani Vani got back into the contest, via wildcard (re)entry. At present only 3 contestants are left which are Aabhas Joshi, Harshit Saxena and Ishmeet Singh.

The grand finale of Star Voice of India will be held in the month of November 2007. Lata Mangeshkar, well-known Indian playback singer will be the chief guest and super-judge.

ISHMEET SINGH :- Profile

Ishmeet Singh, an 18 year old boy from Ludhiyana used to suffer from stage fear in his childhood. The fear was overcome after he sang in front of a huge crowd in the Delhi Audition of Star Voice of India.
He is a true fan of Shaan and considers him as his idol.

He also admires A. R. Rehman and his dream is to sing for him.

AABHAAS JOSHI :- Profile

At the young age of 17, this ‘voice of Rafi’ boy has shown a fabulous talent in the contest and demonstrated that talent doesn’t rely on age. Aabhas from Jabalpur, sang 'Dil Tera Deewana Hai Sanam' as a tribute to Late Mohmad Rafi in an audition. A lover of the golden oldies, he dreams to lend his voice for songs composed by his brother who desires to become a music director. Jatin Pandit and Alka Yagnik have favoured him. After being eliminated earlier, he has now staged a re-entry via the wild card episode of 5th October.

Since ABHAAS has been voted out on Saturday, Nov.10 episode his voting details have been deleted.

HARSHIT SAXENA :- Profile

Harshit Saxena is a shy and simple boy from Lucknow who always wanted to pursue his career in Physiotherapy. His mom is a very good singer and can play most of the musical instruments. He missed his Physiotherapy exams and came down to Mumbai for the competition. During his free time he learns and listens to music.
